Google Product Changes
It may seem impossible but Adwords was launched nearly 18 years ago today, and since then a lot has changed, Google multiplied its platforms, and regulary improved them. In July Google Adwords changed their name to Google Ads, but don't be scared, it is not a brand new platform, rather a rebranding. Google has also rebranded other products as part of this new project.
What has changed?
Google has come up with a better solution with regards to how it is now managing its portfolio. They have combined many of there exciting services into three new platforms called Google Ads, Google Marketing Platform and Google Ads Manager. Each one has a specific target and purpose but the main idea behind is to make advertising easier for all the agents in the marketing environment.
Google Ads will help smaller businesses get started by the use of a new campaign type that now allows companies to get started on their online advertising.
Google Marketing Platform was created for bigger brand companies plan, buy, measure and optimize digital media and customer experiences in one specific place.
Googles Ads Manager helps publishers to monetize their content. Bringing together DoubleClick for, Publishers and DoubleClick Ad Exchange in a complete platform under a new name.
Many people have found it confusing that so many different channels have folded into the same interface on Google. The creation of separate platforms has made it easier for companies to distinguish between them all.
If you are running a startup or a small business, Google Ads must be the right platform for you.
Google Ads helps small businesses specifically by the introduction of a new campaign type dedicated to allowing small companies to get started with online advertising.
These campaigns will help enterprises to remain in control of how much they spend and will enable them to focus on what matters, their business. It works in the exact same way as the old Adwords, but integrated with Analytics, Data Studio, and other platforms.
The new interface also contains artificial intelligence and machine learning features that automate key optimisations, allowing businesses to free up some time and focus on account analysis and strategy.
Google Marketing Platform
Google Marketing Platform has brought together DoubleCick Marketing and Google Analytics 360. This new platform helps big brands and larger advertising agencies to deliver more efficient marketing as well as allowing these companies to respect their customer's privacy and allowing them to gain control over their data.
They also integrated a number of products (Search 360, Display 360, Analytics 360, etc) in the one programmatic platform - the new marketing platform. If you are familiar with the DoubleClick for Advertisers, you'll find this product easy to use.
These tools already work together, with native integrations and the ability to push data between different platforms but now also focus on delivering a more significant experience to enterprise marketers and analytic professionals that are relying on Google products every day.
Google Ads Manager
With people accessing content on multiple screens, and with advertisers’ growing demand for programmatic access it was important for Google to build a new platform that will allow publishers to manage their businesses more efficiently. For the last three years, Google has been working on bringing DoubleClick for Publishers and DoubleClick Ad Exchange together as a complete platform under a new name.
Google Ads Manager offers the user a pure experience with Google speed with a tagging process so that publishers can spend more time on their companies advertising and less time on managing their ad solution.
With Google Ads Manager, Google amalgamates Doubleclick for Publishers and DoubleClick Ad Exchange. The main objective is to make easier for you to sell inventory through Google Platforms.
How can Google help your Business?
It depends on you and your objectives. The aim of the new and improved Google platform is to bring together all of Google's experience and knowledge allowing businesses to grow and expand with an easy to navigate platform.
The new platform has paved the way between desktop and mobile, allowing more accessibility through mobile devices.
